Methods and measures to prevent air from entering hydraulic system

1) Prevent external gas from entering the system, and check whether the amount of oil in the tank is normal during use to avoid suction phenomenon. The height of the liquid level in the tank shall be maintained at the oil marking line. At the lowest surface, the suction pipe mouth and the return pipe mouth should also be ensured below the liquid level, and should be separated by a partition. At the same time, check the oil condition in time to avoid oil deterioration.


2) In the maintenance and installation, the air in the components and pipelines must be excluded, and the suction pipe and pump body should be filled with oil to keep the seal of the pipe good.


3) Often check whether the filter is blocked, so as not to cause air separation due to low pressure of the oil suction port.


4) Reduce the pressure difference before and after the throttle hole when designing the hydraulic system.


5) Exhaust device is set on the upper part of the hydraulic cylinder and pipeline to discharge the air in the system.


6) When the actuator with large inertia suddenly stops or reverses during movement, holes will be formed in the oil inlet cavity. In order to prevent the formation of holes, an oil filling circuit should be set up.


7) A layer of 60-100 mesh metal mesh can be placed on the bottom of the oil suction side of the tank from the middle partition to the tank wall to separate the oil gas discharged back to the tank.


8) A large diameter suction pipe is used to reduce the local resistance of the pipe to prevent the pump from producing holes, and a large capacity suction filter is used to prevent the oil from mixing air. The suction pipe of the pump and the system return pipe mouth should be as low as possible, the distance between the two should be as far as possible, and the baffle or anti-foam net should be added between the two.


9) Should try to prevent the pressure in the system is lower than the atmospheric pressure, at the same time should use a good sealing device, failure should be replaced in time, the pipe joint and the screws at the joint surface should be tightened, clean the inlet oil filter in time.


10) If necessary, check and replace the dust ring and seal ring, if no measures are taken to replace it in time, it will lead to air leakage. When replacing seals and dust rings, use materials recommended by the manufacturer.


11) When installing hoses, ensure that they are firmly supported, vibrating hoses may cause pipe joints to relax, so that air into the system, so you should regularly check the connection and fixed parts of the hose. The pressure pipe leakage is visible, and the suction pipe leakage is not visible, if the presence of air caused by the pump noise, you can apply oil to the suction pipe, one joint at a time, if the noise disappears, you can be sure that the pipe joint produced a leak.


12) When repairing and reinstalling hydraulic components, be sure to be careful, improper sealing will lead to leakage, sloppy work, and the consequences are the unreliable work of the system and the very high cost of re-repair.


13) Select the appropriate working medium, the viscosity of the oil is too high, the reaction to the control has a tendency to slow down, it will also cause the fluid friction to increase the oil temperature of the system, or cause the hydraulic pump to empty, thereby increasing the formation of foam.
